According to the LAPD, Polo G and Trench Baby, two well-known rappers who are both brothers, were detained on Wednesday during a raid on the former’s Chatsworth residence.
Officers searched Polo G’s home, and his real name is Taurus Bartlett, 24, to find his younger brother, Trench Baby, and his legal name is Taurean Bartlett, 18, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement on Thursday. Police arrested the younger Bartlett, he was wanted in connection with a robbery.
Additionally, authorities claimed to have discovered an illegal short-barrel gun when searching Taurus Bartlett’s $4.9 million estate and vehicle, leading to the rapper’s arrest. Officers could be seen leading the brothers out of the house in handcuffs in pictures and footage of the raid that TMZ was able to secure.
According to Los Angeles County jail records, Taurean Bartlett was freed late on Wednesday after posting $100,000 bond, while Taurus Bartlett was released on his own recognizance. The older Bartlett is due in court on September 12, while the younger Bartlett is due on September 13.
Bradford Cohen, Taurus Bartlett’s attorney, stated to XXL and other media sites after hearing of the charges that police had “refused to allow us access to our client, which is additionally an illegal and unethical practice, and someone is going to answer for these fresh wrongful actions.”
In an email to The Times, attorney Cohen stated that any charges toward Polo G were “very unusual considering the timing and suspected knowledge of the police.” Cohen has defended the rappers Draze, Lil Wayne, and Kodak Black.
“We think that if all the information is available, the charges will paint a much different picture than they do on paper. We anticipate refuting the charges and seeing our client vindicated,” he told The Times.
Taurean Bartlett’s legal counsel’s involvement was not known.
An LAPD investigation into a robbery that occurred on August 15 at a residence in the 18500 block of Clydesdale Avenue in Granada Hills is what led to the raid and the following arrests.
The victim came to the suspect’s residence on the evening of August 15, according to the LAPD, who claim that the suspect is Taurean Bartlett. Police said that while at the residence, the suspect produced a weapon and demanded money transfers from the victim to his account. Police claimed that while the victim complied, the suspect reportedly insisted that he emptied his pockets.
Detectives secured a search warrant for the 18-year-old’s Granada Hills home after designating him as the suspect. However, throughout the inquiry, police discovered that Taurean was residing at the Chatsworth house of his brother Taurus, and they subsequently acquired a different search order.
Taurus Bartlett, who goes by the stage name Polo G, was raised in Chicago’s drill rap scene and has recently had a meteoric rise to fame. Following the release of two successful albums, the Columbia Records musician purchased his Chatsworth home in June 2021. The first of them was his 2019 debut, “Die a Legend,” which went double platinum. Ten tracks from his second album, “Goat,” which was released the following year, made the Billboard Hot 100.
Bartlett released his third album, “Hall of Fame,” in 2021, just a few days after purchasing his new Chatsworth estate. It opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album’s lead hit, “Rapstar,” outperformed A-listers Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, and the Weeknd for two weeks at the top of the charts.
Each of his three albums has sold over 2 million copies or units. Bartlett only recently revealed the arrival of his fourth album, “H.O.O.D P.O.E.T.”
Rapper Taurean Bartlett, who goes by the stage name Trench Baby, is a collaborator with the duo on a number of songs. Taurean Bartlett began rapping while he was a teenager, with the help of his older brother as a mentor.
In an interview at AllHipHop.com, 16-year-old Taurean Bartlett described how his brother’s quick success gave him confidence and paved the way for his own career.
“S—, it was absurd. In 2021, he remarked, “I’m not gonna lie, it was crazy. “Watching things come together piece by piece was insane. You feel me? It doesn’t typically happen like that where we come from. Blew up in just two years? Major fasho.
