Taylena warning! On Saturday, September 16, Selena Gomez shared some adorable selfies with Taylor Swift.
Swift is consistently at the top of her game, Gomez wrote in the caption of two photos she shared on Instagram.
In a nice Instagram update, Gomez said, “That’s my best friend – she’s a real bad.” The picture-perfect images showed them having a good time together by the water, with cheek kisses and smiles. Since Swift is wearing the identical (now sold-out) Christy Dawn sundress in each series of images, it is likely that they were taken at Swift’s Fourth of July celebration with her “neighborhood independent girlies,” including Gomez and Haim.
The “Single Soon” singer probably paraphrased a line from Saweetie and Doja Cat’s upbeat song “Best Friend,” which spent 30 weeks overall at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2021. The lyrics of “Best Friend” include the two praising each other’s independence, money, and beauty: “I’ma hype her every time, that my motherf—in’ friend.”
Earlier this week, Gomez posted another photo of herself and her friend Swift from the MTV VMAs with the wry caption, “She looks lovely, I look constipated. Typical.”
Although Gomez might not have found the discussion about her facial expressions amusing, both VMA winners had meme-worthy moments and reactions that were captured on camera during the awards show. One of MTV’s audience cams seemed to remain fixated on Swift the entire time as she held a drink. After the concert, she declared in an Instagram Story, “I will never again be a meme.” “I’d rather remain motionless than be shamed for being who I am. Lots of love.
