The Toronto International Film Festival received a bomb threat, which caused the screening of the documentary “Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero” to be postponed.

While authorities investigated the threat, the movie’s Saturday night premiere at Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall was postponed by around 20 minutes. Lil Nas X wasn’t allowed to walk the red carpet at that moment.

Prior to the screening, Toronto police looked into the area around the red carpet, according to Judy Lung, vice president of public affairs and media for TIFF.

“Our usual security precautions remained in place during this time,” Lung added. “The screening started with a slight delay.” According to what we know, neither the artist nor the movie were the targets of this threat.

The eight-month tour for the pop star’s full-length first album, “Montero,” which kicks off in September 2022, is documented in the movie “Long Live Montero,” which was directed by Carlos López Estrada and Zac Manuel.
