Fans are confused by Dan Ige’s claim that he will face Bryce Mitchell in a weight class outside of the UFC’s standard division in his next bout. Mitchell is a staunch supporter of the flat earth theory, which is humorously mentioned in Egg’s tweet.

Ige returned to winning ways at UFC Vegas 67 earlier this month after a three-fight losing skid. ’50K’ defeated Damon Jackson by knockout in the second round, which also earned him Performance of the Night honors. Ige claimed on Twitter that he would be lining up against Bryce Mitchell in his next fight, saying:

Due to Dan Ige’s comments, MMA fans quickly resorted to flat-earth jokes to mock Mitchell. The ‘Thug Nasty’ is famous for believing the Earth is flat and all evidence to the contrary is an elaborate government hoax. He is so confident in his stance that he has dared UFC color commentator Joe Rogan to engage in debate.

One fan jokingly wrote:

“Is it “168 lbs” because Bryce doesn’t believe in gravity?”

Another fan wrote:

“Wow. Two in a row for Bryce Mitchell. Better watch out he doesn’t fall off the face of the earth when you kick him.”

However, some other fans couldn’t understand why two featherweight contenders would fight at 168 pounds:

“What do you mean 168 pounds?”
