Ajdin Hrustic

There were concerns surrounding the foot injury that kept him out for three games against Hellas Verona in Italy, but he is back for the World Cup and has been named in the final 26-man squad. With 20 caps to his name, the attacking midfielder is a key component of Australia’s squad in Qatar when healthy.

Other Injuries

Martin Boyle (ruled out)

Missed November 4 game. He was selected for the final 26-man roster in an attempt to get him ready in time, but standby player Marco Tillio has now moved into the squad as his replacement.

Harry Satwar (ACL)

Returned on November 8 and was selected in the final squad.

World Cup 2022 Belgium Injuries

Romelu Lukaku

It’s been an injury-plagued season for Lukaku, and Lukaku’s presence on the Belgium roster means the likelihood of him overcoming his hamstring problem in time for the group stage seems unlikely.

“If he can’t play in the group stage, he won’t be with us,” Roberto Martinez said before the tournament.

Thomas Meunier

The winger suffered a broken cheekbone on Oct. 20. He was out of the club until the break but Roberto Martinez told him he was ready to play in Qatar and he would be on the plane.

Other injuries

Alexis Selemaker

(Knee ligament) ruled out of the World Cup.
